1.1 Floor plan installation dimension diagram

  • Minimum length installation size: the minimum length installation size is based on the product internal space net length, increase 100-150mm (there are slight differences in the installation dimensions for different product series)
  • Minimum width installation size: the minimum width installation size is based on the product internal space net width, increase 100-150mm (there are slight differences in the installation dimensions for different product series)

1.2 Height installation dimension diagram

Drainage on the differect floor:

H ≥ h (wall board height) + 600mm (roof cover, electrical components and drain pipe height and waterproof tray structure height)

Drainage on the same floor:

H ≥ h (wall board height) + 600mm or 650mm (roof cover, electrical components and drain pipe height +230/300mm waterproof tray structure height)

1.3 Shaft floor plan diagram

  • Most of the bathroom pod can be equipped with shaft, the air duct, drainage standpipe, Ventilation duct, water supply standpipe and etc. can be reasonably set in the shaft according to actual conditions. The bathroom pod shaft size generally is 300mm*800mm, 200mm*600mm and etc.
  • Whether the bathroom has shaft and the size of the shaft depends on the structural design of the waterproof tray mold. There are differences between different product series and different product models. For more details, please feel free to contact us.
  • When the shaft is inside the bathroom pod, the bathroom pod wall board can be used as a partition wall and to cancel part of the non-structural wall of the shaft, for saving space and cost.

2.1 Waterproof node diagram

  • The bathroom tray is made of high-density and high-strength SMC waterproof tray, the floor and water defender is under one-time high temperature and high pressure molding to prevent leakage.
  • The waterproof treatment for installation surface of the bathroom is not necessary, but the leveling treatment is required for the bathroom pod installation surface. The flatness deviation should be less than 5mm.

2.2 Window opening diagram

  • The premise requirement for bathroom window opening is that the dimensions must ensure that the maximum outline of the window is at least 100mm smaller than the outline of the wall board which has window opening, and it will not affect the installation and functional use of the internal fittings.
  • If the height of the window is higher than the bathroom pod wall board, it is recommended to reduce the height of the civil window. Or the window is designed as upper fixed slab with active lower slab. The fixed slab should be opaque treated, such as frosted glass or film cover.

2.3 Window trim diagram

  • After contractor’s window construction work, the basic plaster is required on the perimeter of inner window. The level and verticality is required to be less than 2 mm and the diagonal deviation is less than 3 mm. After the bathroom pod’s installation, the wall board and window sill should be closed by window trim.

3.1 Door opening reserved width diagram

  • The layout position of the civil construction door should be according to the bathroom pod floor plan. The center line of the civil door opening is the same as the center line of the bathroom door.
  • When using the original bathroom pod’s door frame, the reserved width of the civil door opening = the width of the door frame + 40mm
  • When using the contractor’s door frame, the reserved width of the civil door opening = the width of the door opening in wall board

3.2 Door opening reserved height diagram

  • In order to meet the bathroom pod installation requirements, the reserved height of the civil door opening should be larger than or equal to the height of the bathroom wall board.
  • The reserved height of the civil door opening is based on the ±0 building finished surface.
  • When the height of the bathroom door frame is lower than the height of the bathroom wall board, after the installation of the bathroom pod, contractor needs to replenish the wall around the civil door opening.
  • When using the bathroom pod, Lotus only provide the main body of the bathroom and its internal fittings. Lotus do not provide door trim, door sill and related installation.

4.1 Water supply reserved diagram

Note: H is based on the ±0 building finished surface.

  • The reserved hot and cold water supply pipe connector position should be above the roof of the bathroom pod, and the pipe should be running on the wall. The installation surface of the bathroom pod and the bottom surface of the floor are not allowed to run the water supply pipe.
  • The reserved hot and cold water supply pipe connector can be flexibly positioned on any side of the civil wall, the best position is above the shower faucet or basin faucet.
  • The reserved hot and cold water supply pipe connector height position can be calculated by the following formula:H ≥ h + 200mm(H: the height of the reserved hot and cold water supply pipe connector,h: the height of the bathroom pod wall board)

4.2 Drainage structure diagram

  • When the drainage on different floor, the drain pipe that on the front projection area of the bathroom pod should be connected and positioned after the waterproof tray of the bathroom installed and positioned.
  • When the drainage on different floor, if the bathroom pod waterproof tray is designed with wash machine floor drain or a small floor drain in the dry area, the S-trap must be equipped underneath the floor drain of washing machine or dry area.
  • When the drainage on different floor, contractor shall make openings or reserve openings for the building floor of the bathroom pod area according to the hole opening plan.
  • When the drainage on different floor, the hole cannot be sealed by the traditional hanging method after the bathroom tray is positioned.
  • When the drainage on different floor, the bathroom pod drain pipe fittings and its installation shall be undertaken contractor.

  • If there is independent shaft, and the shaft has an independent maintenance door outside, the drainage method, please refer to the above drawing.

  • If the bathroom is divided by dry area and wet area, the wet area is the bathroom pod and the shaft is in the dry area. For the drainage method, please refer to the above drawing.

HVAC aspects

5.1 Bathroom ventilation

  • The ventilation of the bathroom is generally roof ventilation method, through PVC hose which is connected to the finished air-duct. In some special cases, the wall exhaust method can also be considered;
  • The ventilation structure of the main building can be PVC pipe (De110), finished air-duct or fresh air system, etc.
  • Reserved position of the ventilation: the center of the civil ventilation duct is 300mm from the top of the floor

5.2 Bathroom heating

  • If the bathroom is made of SMC material, the insulation performance is good, and there is no cold feeling of the tile. Generally speaking, no heating equipment is needed in the bathroom.
  • If contractor has special requirements, the bathroom can also be designed with radiator, heat lamp or fan heater.
  • The bathroom pod cannot be heated by floor heating, whether it is same floor drainage method or different floor drainage method.

6.1 Different floor drainage descend dimension diagram

Different floor drainage:

  • When using the different floor drainage method, the descend area should be descend at 100mm from the ±0 finished surface of the building (note: not the structural surface ±0). It will be acceptable if no area descending considered, but the height of the bathroom door sill may be higher than the ±0 finished surface of the building at about 30-50mm.

6.1 Same floor drainage descend dimension diagram

  • When the distance between the lower surface of the drain standpipe tee and finished surface of the building is less than or equal to 20mm, the 250mm sunk distance should be considered in descend area from the finished surface of the building.

  • When the distance between the lower surface of the drain standpipe tee and finished surface of the building is larger than 20mm, the sunk distance should be adjusted based on 250mm in descend area from the finished surface of the building.

Electrical aspects

  • Contractor needs to install two-link or more switches on the exterior façade wall of the bathroom pod (specific switches depending on the type and quantity of electrical accessories), and reserve a junction box on any side of the civil wall and connect the switch to the power line, put the wire connector in the junction box and reserved wire length for about 1500mm or more.
  • Contractor reserves the junction box position height H ≥ h (wall board height) +350mm

Note: H is based on the ±0 building finished surface.

  • The power supply line of the bathroom pod must configured with leakage protection device in the room main control cabinet.
  • When the bathroom has equipotential design requirements, the contractor should reserve LEB terminal board
  1. LEB terminal block can be positioned in any side of the civil wall, surface mounted or concealed mounted (if no interfere with other functions or installation)
  2. LEB terminal block height position in wall board H ≥ h (wall board height) +350mm

Note: H is based on the ±0 building finished surface.

  1. The equipotential power line is the standard BVR-1x4mm2 (or customer requirement).
  2. Accessories for connecting to equipotential wires: all faucets (including basin faucets, shower faucets and washing machine faucets, etc.)
  • The bathroom power wires are all BV-2×2.5mm2, and the conduits are DN16 PVC non-flame tube (or customer requirement).
  • If there is requirement for installing telephones, call buttons, card readers and other related weak electrical equipment inside the bathroom, Lotus will cooperate to cut the opening of weak current equipment, but Lotus do not provide weak current system equipment and its installation.
